→ About Housing
→ Rising Senior class is the first class that actually have to fill out an application to live off campus
→ A few years ago, the new 4-year residency requirement was implemented
→ JoeDi and Gretchen met with Sarah Naughtan and Kushtrim Miftari
→ This application is the result of that meeting
→ Requiring students to let them know if they'd like to live off campus
→ Need to require any information about academic or disciplinary probations
→ Hoping to release about 120-130 seniors→ The college owns houses, but those are not off campus
→ Off campus means non-college-owned housing
Lee Scandinaro
→ This is the only information you're asking, and first-come, first-served, but you're not looking at
anything else?
Gretchen
→ Yes
Leanne Siwicki
→ Are these dates accurate?
Gretchen
→ Hopeful everyone received a heads-up email that this was coming
→ Helps us plan for room draw
→ While it seems like a tight time line, it should be okay
Sam Quagliana
→ It says first-come first served, but how does that work if you're planning on living with other
people?
Gretchen
→ We will look at those applications first
→ We also take into consideration those groups that apply
→ Need for people to apply individually
Alexis Nielson
→ Not really a priority for medical issues or commuters?
Gretchen
→ Did not include commuters on this form
→ They have to prove that their parent is living at that address that they are
→ It's a different demographic
→ Medical issues weren't a part of the initial discussion, but it can be discussed
Grant Richman
→ Let's say you're approved and something bad happens, would this exclude you from room draw?
Gretchen
→ No, which is why we're trying to do this quickly
→ We'll work with you if something happens
Marlys Kotyuk
→ I think you guys should really consider medical issues
Gretchen
→ There is a process in place for people with medical conditions that need considerationRose So
→ 120-130 students? How did that number come up?
Gretchen
→ That number came from previous years
→ But seniors are choosing to live more on campus; this number is an average
Rose
→ If there are an abnormal amount of seniors that wanted to live off campus, would they be cut off?
Gretchen
→ Don't want to say anything at this point because we don't have enough information
JoeDi
→ If you do the math, we have 2100 students, and about 50 students that study abroad each semester,
and we have about 100 that generally
Sam Quagliana
→ Will the numbers change as the classes change in size?
Gretchen
→ That's something we can look at as the years go on and the class sizes change
Shep Shroer
→ JoeDi just mentioned a wait list
→ Is it possible to get a lease by March or April for the following year if you're on a wait list
Gretchen
→ Some students have found housing at that date or even during the summertime
JoeDi
→ Our preference would be that we do this early
→ Landlords also appreciate it
Sarah Naughtan
→ Is it possible we can put an additional comments section on the survey?
Gretchen
→ Yes! Absolutely.
Grace Flowers
→ Will you be releasing the time you'll be sending out the email?
Gretchen
→ We can!

→ Professors and students are very intertwined; it's a place where everybody builds a home; it helps
when you help one another
→ Sense of community and transparency and lack of bureaucracy between departments
→ The fact that we can do so many things that are administer by departments without having taken a
class in
Sarah Naughten
→ A better question might be “Why are you still here”? That community that we build here is fantastic;
it's those communities that you build and those relationships that make you want to stay; cannot
imagine having this kind of community elsewhere
Alexis Nielson
→ It's like the idea that you live here, not just go to school here
Eric Chang
→ Came here not knowing what to expect; never visited any colleges
→ Someone came to pick me up at the airport before I got to campus; they introduced me to everyone;
floor in Baldwin is very social

→ Does that school watch a discounted Netflex that you can watch? Are we getting rid of cable and
you have to provide it?
Aviv Lang
→ Not personally apposed to the security cameras
→ $40,000 is a lot; they can be a lot more effective in other ways, if the funds are transferable
